Bayern stopped

Bayern's Munich's winning streak ground to a halt on Saturday after a tough 0-0 draw away Hoffenheim. Although the Bundesliga leaders couldn't extend their run of ten wins in all competitions, they still remain undefeated since the defeat by Mönchengladbach on the first game of the Bundesliga.

"We weren't the freshest today, we could see that on the pitch," Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer told Sky TV after the game.

"Hoffenheim played well and put us under pressure early on and didn't make it easy for us," he added. "The important thing was not to concede a goal today. It's not just my record, but that of the team. We all work hard on defense."

Neuer has now gone 1,018 minutes without conceding a goal, and the result moves Jupp Heynckes' side to 19 points at the top of the table. They are three clear of Werder Bremen, who play Sunday, and Mönchengladbach who suffered an embarrassing defeat against Freiburg in Saturday's play.

After three successive defeats Johannes Flum pulled Freiburg out of the bottom three with a 1-0 victory.

Dortmund bounce back

A hat-trick from Poland striker Robert Lewandowski powered champions Borussia Dortmund on their way to a 4-0 victory against promoted Augsburg, still the only side yet to win a game.

Already two-nil down at half-time, Augsburg missed a chance to get back in the game when Gibril Sankoh saw his penalty saved by Dortmund keeper Roman Weidenfeller three minutes after the break.

Götze put the issue beyond doubt with a wonderful chip over Simon Jentzsch, and then crossed for Lewandowski to head in his third.

"We approached the game with too few ideas. Dortmund are too good a team and will of course take advantage of that," Jentzsch said.

Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp made five changes to the side that lost 3-0 to Marseille in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Dortmund move to fourth place, level on 13 points with VfB Stuttgart, Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen who overcame Wolfsburg 3-1, ending a run of three league games with only a point. In Saturday's other game, Nuremberg drew 3-3 with Mainz.

Hertha coast past Cologne

In the late Saturday match, Hertha Berlin continued their successful return to the top-flight with a 3-0 win over Cologne. After scoring four goals in each of their last two away games, Cologne were sobered by a confident display from the Berliners.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored twice in the first half-hour, before Brazilian Raffael added a third on 34 minutes, sewing up the game before half-time.

The result puts Hertha in the top half of the table, in 9th, while disappointing Cologne continue to languish in 12th place despite a recent run of good form.
