Nobel Prize in Medicine for discovery of microRNA

Biologists Gary Ruvkun and Victor Ambros were granted the prestigious award for describing molecules that regulate gene activity in cells. The discovery of microRNA could one day help us develop drugs to "switch off" diseases such as cancer or diabetes.
